Lately, Palace Café has been better and consistent! Staff has never been a problem at all, always smiling faces. Ambiance is nice, if sitting by the window, you can sometimes smell the gunk of Canal street but besides that. I would recommend this restaurant!

Palace Cafe is a must visit during my annual trips to NO. Brunch is my go to meal at PC, but I visited during the week so I had to settle for lunch. I had the Shrimp Tchefuncte. It was so good. The gravy was a nice compliment to the rice and I had several large shrimps. I was torn between the creme brule and bananas Foster for dessert. My server recommended the bananas foster and I went with his suggestion since he did such a good recommending my entree. My first luck experience at PC was great. I prefer brunch since I love their shrimp and grits, but it's good to know they have great dishes on the lunch menu.

Walked pass this café while heading to the streetcar then we noticed the winding staircase. It was calling my name, so I had to find out where it led. OMG, were we surprised by the decadence of the decor, ambiance and waitstaff on the top floor. Surrounded by the bar and bistro tables, not to mention the casual seating area too. The restroom was well stocked and clean. The raw oysters were plump and fresh. Drinks and desserts were out of this world. Such a good find. Old world charm with a new twist!!! Server Angie was fantastic and so was the gentleman that shucked the oysters. Thank you for the memories!!!

Excellent service and the quality of the dining was simply exquisite; sadly the experience was brought down by the meal I ordered. The Oyster Salad, put under the entree section rather than the salad section, deceived me followed by a sorrowful experience. Not only did it sorely lack oysters (only providing 5) but the salad provided dominated the palette with an excessive amount of vinegar and sour flavor. Where as this taste is normal on a salad, for a item labeled as an entree, which poorly lacked sustenance, the taste was overwhelming bitter and acidic. What redeemed the night for me though was the banana foster, it provided not only excellent ambience with a wonderful presentation of the dish, but also in as a delightful experience for the mouth. Overall, if it wasn't for the poor labeling of an Oyster Salad, the place was exquisite; I'll be returning to hopefully receive a more wonderous meal fitting of the wonderful environment.

Palace Cafe was amazing! The andouille crusted white fish was probably my favorite dish during my trip. The bananas foster was worth trying, but I think I'm one and done with that dish. Service was stellar. It was also very nice to have a table on the second floor overlooking the street.

This is an upscale place, you can't tell too much from the outside but it's really nice on the inside with lots of tradition. It is located on Canal Street. The service is solid, and the ambiance is classy. We came for breakfast on our last day, and the food was good, no complaints.

Loved this place. The food was amazing and the atmosphere's romantic in the upper level. Great view to people watch on canal street. Highly recommend the crab cheese cake. The fish was out of this world!

The Palace cafe is one of the Brennan family restaurants. It is in a two story converted bank building on canal street. The ambiance is upscale casual and the feeling is vibrant in the large downstairs dining area. The upstairs dining is reached by elevator or a really ornate curving iron staircase. Impressive. We've had breakfast, lunch and several dinners there over the years. This visit we had dinner which included a bowl of Gumbo Yaya, Shrimp Tchefuncte over grits in a sauce that was excellent as was the Andouille Crusted Fish which was tender and lightly spiced in a great sauce too. For dessert we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding which needed more white chocolate sauce and our polite and efficient server Bradley A quickly served us more sauce and it was very good. So, when in New Orleans try The Palace Cafe for any meal.
